This was not merely an act of slaughter; it was a declaration that on the path of monotheism, no relationship, no attachment, and no desire can stand in the way. Allah so loved this spirit of sacrifice that He made it a perpetual emblem for Muslims till the end of time.

This same spirit of sacrifice reached its zenith in Karbala, where under the leadership of Imam Hussain (RA), the struggle against falsehood and tyranny continued with unmatched courage. Along with his 72 loyal companions, Imam Hussain (RA) taught us to never bow before injustice. His message was “Death with dignity is better than a life of humiliation”.

The blood spilled in Karbala was, in essence, a continuation of the sacrifice that began in the Sacred Sanctuary with Prophet Ibrahim (AS).Even today, this caravan of sacrifice continues in the deserts of Gaza, in the valleys of Kashmir, and across the Muslim Ummah, where countless sons and daughters are carrying this legacy forward. The blood being shed in the streets of Al-Quds and Srinagar is deeply connected to the spirit of the Sacred Sanctuary and Karbala. Since October 7, 2023; the Gaza Strip has faced one of the most brutal and prolonged assaults in modern history. With over 40,000 Palestinians martyred, including more than 15,000 children and millions displaced and starved. The people of Gaza have turned their wounded land into a sacred ground of sacrifice. Entire families like that of Ismail Haniyeh (RA), the political head of Hamas have been wiped out, and yet, the resolve of resistance remains firm.

On July 31, 2024, Ismail Haniyeh himself embraced martyrdom in a strike attributed to the Zionist regime. Seventy-three of his family members including his sons and grandchildren had already been martyred before him. These sacrifices are not merely numbers; they are living chapters of a divine story, echoing the eternal call:”We are not afraid of death, for our blood writes the verses of resistance.”

In September 2024, Syed Hassan Nasrullah (RA) of Hezbollah was also martyred. His words still echo:”We may die, but we will never bow!”

Since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, India has transformed Kashmir into an open-air prison. More than fifteen thousand people have been jailed including children and women. The voice of independent journalism has been crushed; many journalists remain behind bars under draconian laws.

Homes are demolished as collective punishment, citizenship rights have been stripped, lands are confiscated under new colonial-style laws, and the demographic engineering of the region continues under the shadow of occupation.

The youth of Kashmir like Burhan Wani, who was martyred in 2016 are still remembered not for militancy, but for symbolizing dignity, defiance, and sacrifice. As we sacrifice animals on this occasion, do we also revive within ourselves the spirit of sacrifice that began with Ibrahim (AS) and lives on through the children of Gaza and Kashmir?

Do we resolve to sacrifice our ego, our desires, our comforts and luxuries for the sake of Allah’s Deen? Do we remember that nations remain alive only so long as they honour their martyrs, their warriors, and their freedom fighters?

Eid al-Adha is not merely a ritual of flesh and blood; it is a renewal of a sacred covenant. This day reminds us every year that the survival of a nation does not rest on speeches alone it is built upon sacrifices. As long as the Ummah upholds the legacy of Ismaeel and Hussain (AS), no enemy force will be able to bring it to its knees.

Let us not only sacrifice animals this Eid al-Adha. Let us revive within our hearts the spirit of sacrifice so that the story of the Sacred Sanctuary, Karbala, Gaza, and Kashmir continues to be reflected in our character.

The writer is a journalist with Neo TV Islamabad.

Eid al-Adha is not just a religious festival, it is a profound symbol of sacrifice, obedience, struggle, and unwavering faith that deliver the same eternal message to all humanity: Everything even what is dearest to us can be sacrificed for the supremacy of Allah’s Deen This day reminds us of that pivotal moment when Prophet …

[25

post-176594","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles
["GET
